Who has access to the media and who gains the attention of the public? Young People of Color, migrants and post-migrants are still very underrepresented in the mainstream media. In the Kiez-Monatsschau they take on the role of producers and ‒ armed with cameras and microphones ‒ take the floor to make themselves heard.

In Kiez-Monatsschau Vol. XIX, the protagonists, accompanied by their mentor Hüseyin Yıldız, collect views and reactions revolving around the topic of freedom: What does it mean to be FREE in this society? What do we need to be free? Money? Friends? Appreciation? Family? An excessive lifestyle? Modesty or love? Are the people who seem free to us really free? Are there mechanisms we ourselves use making us dependent, and if this is true, how do we get rid of them?۝
