Based at the Ballhaus Naunynstraße, the akademie der autodidakten is an experimental project that grows and changes along with its makers, who are mostly teenagers from the local neighbourhood. Questions about the conditions and need for new ways in (cultural) education are analysed in each project and new answers found. The youthful akademie is a cradle of ideas and opportunities that aims to bring together local and international artists and contexts and create something new.

In February, the akademie der autodidakten presents the productions and project results of the last six months. There will also be two open days in which young people are invited to participate in two workshops.

The first workshop on February 12 gives budding young DJs, music producers and filmmakers the opportunity to try things out with professional support. So come along, create a beat, make a film or record a song and take it home with you!

The second workshop on February 13, a director from the akademie der autodidakten network introduces participants to the basics of theatre. Directors and actors are the backbone of all stage and screen productions, and an exciting range of practical exercises gives participants the opportunity to try it out for themselves.
