FESTIVAL PARTY
It’s time to celebrate – we’re going to make the theater hall reverberate!
We want to celebrate the artists, the space creators and all those who understand art and creative spaces as a necessity.
We want to celebrate those who work every day to ensure that cultural and political access for young BIPoC remains available and continues to expand.
We want to celebrate the younger generations for their courage to keep going, to resist, to create their own art and new spaces.
Come, dance, celebrate with us, and recharge your energy!
To bring the festival motto Festivity of Black Berlin Black to life, we will be joined that evening by DJs and sound artists who move effortlessly between music genres, building both communal and temporal bridges:
Femdelic, with a background in popping and B-boy culture, fills the space with warmth through vibrant funk and disco beats.
MINQ, rooted in the queer DIY warehouse rave scene of New Orleans, creates soundscapes driven by groove and basslines.
Drawing on influences ranging from Congolese rumba and gospel music, Nzambisa approaches the musical world with radical openness, keeping us on our toes.
Coco Calypso sets an electric mood with a dynamic mix of Afro-Caribbean rhythms, R&B, rap and much more!
And as the showcase act:
Berlin Ballroom Pier, a collective offering BIPoC trans and queer youth and young adults spaces for self-empowerment and self-expression through movement and dance. The collective’s work is rooted in the political and cultural practices of ballroom tradition.
