Black Berlin Black - Festivity akademie der autodidakten

HERE TO STAY!

TALK AND NETWORKING MEETING, MODERATED BY IMAN GELE

We are Here to stay!

Access to cultural and political participation must remain open – indeed, it must open up even further. We need spaces and stages for experimentation, articulation, and joy!

Together with artists who began in cultural education projects or helped shape such projects, as well as with educators who have led these projects themselves, we want to talk about their work, strategies, and visions for the future. The conversation will also explore celebration and joy as forms of resistance and discuss the many shapes they can take.

The networking event Here to stay! is organized by the akademie der autodidakten. Since 2007, the akademie der autodidakten at Ballhaus Naunynstraße has been developing projects that enable participation and self-empowerment for young BIPoC, facilitating access to the world of theatre and performance, while creating new spaces for negotiating new narratives.

This year, Ballhaus Naunynstraße presents the seventh edition of the festival Black Berlin Black, this time under the motto Festivity!
Especially in times of crisis and threat, we need social togetherness and joy. From Black perspectives, it is essential to celebrate community, honour years of work and draw strength for future struggles. For this very reason, the akademie der autodidakten at Ballhaus Naunynstraße is taking the opportunity to connect this theme with the context of cultural education.
